Padres re-signed SS Kelvin Melean to a minor league contract.
Melean batted .238/.332/.327 with three homers and two steals in 312 plate appearances last season between High-A and Triple-A in the Padres’ system and will return as organizational middle infield depth. The 24-year-old infielder is merely a quality depth addition for San Diego at this stage of his development.
