Kevin Mulvey made his Double-A debut on Thursday and allowed two runs in three innings.
Mulvey, a product of Villanova, was the Mets’ first pick in the 2006 draft, going in the second round. He’s not expected to see the majors in September, but it’s possible that he’ll be called on at some point during 2007.

    Diamondbacks released RHP Kevin Mulvey.
Mulvey posted a 6.59 ERA and 66/44 K/BB ratio in 110 2/3 minor-league innings last season. The 26-year-old right-hander will try to latch on with another organization.

Mets signed RHP Kevin Mulvey to a minor league contract.
Mulvey was released by the Diamondbacks earlier this week, but originally drafted by the Mets and traded to the Twins in the Johan Santana deal. The contract does not include an invite to spring training.

Two sources told Adam Rubin of ESPN New York that Kevin Mulvey decided to retire after Saturday’s game with Double-A Binghamton.
Mulvey, who coincidentally turned 27 Saturday, has posted a 5.59 ERA over 13 relief appearances with Binghamton this season. The former second-round pick holds a 7.90 ERA over 10 career major league appearances.

Diamondbacks optioned RHP Kevin Mulvey to Triple-A Reno.
Mulvey was called to the bigs just four days ago and allowed five hits and two earned runs in three innings of work. He will head down to Triple-A Reno to make room for Monday’s starter, right-hander Cesar Valdez.

Double-A Binghamton’s Kevin Mulvey threw eight scoreless innings and struck out 11 on Saturday.
Mulvey probably be a factor this year, but the 2006 second-round pick could be a future fourth starter for the Mets. He’s 7-8 with a 3.13 ERA, 97 H and 71/28 K/BB in 100 2/3 IP. He’s given up just one homer all year.

The Twins picked up right-hander Kevin Mulvey in the five-player Johan Santana deal.
Mulvey, a 2006 second-rounder out of Villanova, went 12-10 with a 3.20 ERA, 147 H and 113/43 K/BB in 157 2/3 IP while spending most of last year in Double-A. His stuff screams future fourth starter, and it’s possible he’ll be ready to contribute in the second half of the season.

Twins optioned RHP Kevin Mulvey to Triple-A Rochester.
Not a successful first crack at the majors for Mulvey. He was pounded for four earned runs on six hits in 1 1/3 innings (two appearances) after having been called up one week ago. He will return to Rochester where he was 3-6 with a 3.93 ERA in 17 starts earlier this season.

Twins recalled RHP Kevin Mulvey from Triple-A Rochester.
Mulvey has gone 3-6 with a 3.93 ERA in 17 starts for Rochester this season, but will provide bullpen depth in Minnesota. He’s not likely to have significant fantasy value pitching in middle relief.

Kevin Mulvey was touched up for six earned runs on 11 hits in his starting debut Saturday against the Brewers.
Mulvey was acquired from the Twins in September. He went 5-8 with a 3.93 ERA in 24 starts with Triple-A Rochester before the trade and clearly isn’t ready for major league action. Even if he’s granted another start, we wouldn’t recommend using him in any fantasy league.
