Cubs signed LHP Lucas Luetge to a minor league contract.
The 37-year-old southpaw was released by the Red Sox last weekend, but it didn’t take him long to latch on elsewhere. Luetge has pitched well at the Triple-A level this season, compiling a 3.02 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and a 47/13 K/BB ratio across 41 2/3 frames in his 31 appearances at Triple-A Worcester. It shouldn’t take him long to earn an opportunity with the Cubs.

Red Sox released LHP Lucas Luetge.
The Red Sox didn’t add Luetge to their 40-man roster after he triggered the opt-out in his contract earlier this week, so he’s headed to free agency. The 37-year-old lefty, who signed a minor league pact with Boston back in February, has made 230 appearances in the big leagues since 2012. He’s recorded six saves to go along with a solid 3.02 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 47/13 K?BB ratio across 41 2/3 innings (31 appearances) this season for Triple-A Worcester. There should be another team out there willing to bring him in on another minor league deal.

Red Sox signed LHP Lucas Luetge to a minor league contract.
The veteran announced the deal on his Twitter account. Luetge tossed 13 2/3 innings with the Braves last year and posted a 7.24 ERA before he was designated for assignment on September 19. He should give Boston reliever depth in the upper level of their minor league system.

Braves sent LHP Lucas Luetge outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Luetge will presumably stick around with the Braves as extra organizational depth after being removed from Atlanta’s 40-man roster earlier this week and going unclaimed on waivers.

Braves designated LHP Lucas Luetge for assignment.
Luetge was only with the Braves for Monday’s series opener against the Phillies before being removed from Atlanta’s 40-man roster to make room for veteran reliever Jesse Chavez. The 36-year-old southpaw figures to pass through waivers unclaimed and stick around as emergency organizational depth.

Braves selected the contract of LHP Lucas Luetge from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Luetge gets the call to replace Dereck Rodríguez in Atlanta’s bullpen leading into Monday’s series opener against the Phillies. The 36-year-old lefty hasn’t appeared in the majors since mid-July.

Braves sent LHP Lucas Luetge outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.
No one wanted to take a chance on Luetge, even though he was very effective in 2021 and ’22 and can soak up innings in middle relief. He had an 8.49 ERA for the Braves this season, but he was dealing with biceps inflammation at the beginning of the season. He pitched two scoreless innings after being brought back a couple of week ago.

Brades designated LHP Lucas Luetge for assignment.
Luetge has been removed from Atlanta’s 40-man roster to make room for newly-acquired reliever Pierce Johnson. The 36-year-old lefty has struggled this season in 11 relief appearances for the Braves.

Braves selected the contract of LHP Lucas Luetge from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Luetge joins Atlanta’s bullpen mix ahead of Friday’s second-half opener against the White Sox. The 36-year-old left-hander made nine relief appearances earlier this season for the Braves before being designated for assignment in late May. He’s pitched well enough at Triple-A Gwinnett to earn another look in the big leagues prior to the trade deadline.

Braves sent LHP Lucas Luetge outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Luetge was jettisoned from Atlanta’s 40-man roster last week and wound up going unclaimed on waivers. The 36-year-old lefty reliever has been excellent over the last two years for the Yankees, but struggled mightily this season in nine appearances in his Braves debut. He’ll presumably remain at Triple-A Gwinnett as extra organizational relief depth.
