Astros acquired RHP Matt Heidenreich, LHP Blair Walters, and a player to be named later from the White Sox for Brett Myers and cash considerations.
A fourth-round pick in 2009, Heidenreich has a fastball in the mid-to-low 90s and is viewed as a work in progress, with projectability at 6-foot-5, 185 pounds. He’s posting a 5.89 ERA in three starts since being promoted to Double-A Birmingham.

White Sox signed RHP Matt Heidenreich to a minor league contract.
Heidenreich was released by the Astros last month. The White Sox originally drafted Heidenreich in 2009 before shipping him to Houston in the Brett Myers deal in 2012, so he’s back where it all started. The 23-year-old posted an ugly 6.41 ERA in 11 starts and 17 relief appearances between High-A and Double-A this past season.
