The Twins are sending Matthew LeCroy to Fort Myers today to continue his rehab from a strained right oblique muscle.
He, along with Joe Mauer could return to action around May 11th. Until then, Henry Blanco will continue to get most of the starts behind the plate despite batting .063 on the Twins’ current homestand.

Matthew LeCroy, who hasn’t start since breaking his nose a week ago, will be in today’s lineup somewhere.
Bobby Kielty remains limited to DH duties. That doesn’t necessarily mean LeCroy won’t DH today, but he might play first or catch.

Matthew LeCroy, whose nose was broken Wednesday, was available Saturday to pinch-hit for the first time since the injury.
LeCroy didn’t get into Saturday’s game and he’s out of the starting lineup again today.

Manager Ron Gardenhire would prefer to carry just two catchers into the postseason.
Matthew LeCroy is expected to DH, which means if A.J. Pierzynski is injured during a game, the Twins will lose their DH. No. 3 catcher Rob Bowen has only played three games, however, so the Twins would probably not rely on him.

Matt Lecory (strained right oblique muscle) is scheduled to hit off of pitchers Joe Mays and Grant Balfour in a simulated game in Fort Myers today.
He is on target to return to the Twins’ roster on May 11th.

Matthew LeCroy believes he is 10 days away from returning to the Twins.
No official word from the Twins on his return. Lew Ford and/or Michael Cuddyer could lose at-bats upon his return.

Matthew LeCroy, who is expected to lose a lot of playing time with Justin Morneau up, will get a start today, manager Ron Gardenhire said.
Gardenhire didn’t say whether LeCroy would DH or catch. He is expected to see more time behind the plate, leaving Tom Prince withoug much of a role.

Matthew LeCroy has the flu and wasn’t available Friday.
Consider LeCroy day-to-day. He’s only started six games this month.

Matt LeCroy is set to rejoin the Twins tomorrow.
LeCroy played in a doubleheader at Single-A Fort Myers yesterday and will travel today. He’s coming back from a strained right oblique. Unfortunately, LeCroy’s absence has cost him at-bats and a lot of value. Manager Ron Gardenhire said LeCroy won’t be used as a DH, and will share catching duties with Henry Blanco. Once Joe Mauer returns, LeCroy’s playing time stands to take even more of a hit.
  • WSH Catcher
Matthew LeCroy’s playing time has been reduced to the occasional start against lefthanders when A.J. Pierzynski needs a day off.
The DH spot is occupied by Jacque Jones until further notice, so LeCroy’s ABs will mostly come at catcher. His value has taken a huge hit, but if he qualifies as a catcher (14 games played) in your league he’s worth leaving active since his .281 average and 10 homers are nice numbers at a weak position.
