An MRI on his shoulder showed a SLAP Lesion. Christensen is batting .238 in 47 games for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season.

Reds signed outfielder McKay Christensen to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

Christiansen served brief stints in the majors in four straight seasons from 1999-2002, but that streak ended after he sustained a season-ending shoulder injury last May while playing for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He’ll probably be a regular for Triple-A Louisville this year.
