    Mets prospect Mike Jacobs had a cyst in his shoulder drained this week and probably won’t play for Triple-A Norfolk until Wednesday or Thursday.
    Jacobs, who hit .329 and slugged .548 in Double-A last year, would be the top catching prospect in most organizations. However, with Mike Piazza and Jason Phillips in the majors and Justin Huber on the way up, the Mets are expected to take a look at him at other positions.

    Jacobs sat out Wednesday to rest the ankle, but he was available off the bench. The ankle bothers him more in the field than at the plate so he will likely serve as the designated hitter when the Marlins face the Orioles and Yankees next week.

    Jacobs got off to a rough start in April, but he picked it up in May and is now batting .408 with four homers so far in June. He’s worth using in all but the shallowest of mixed leagues.
