Mets prospect Mike Jacobs had a cyst in his shoulder drained this week and probably won’t play for Triple-A Norfolk until Wednesday or Thursday.
Jacobs, who hit .329 and slugged .548 in Double-A last year, would be the top catching prospect in most organizations. However, with Mike Piazza and Jason Phillips in the majors and Justin Huber on the way up, the Mets are expected to take a look at him at other positions.
