Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that free agent outfielder Chris Denorfia has signed a one-year contract with the Cubs.
Denorfia struggled for the Padres and Mariners in 2014 and is 34 years old, but he’s generally been a very productive part-time player with a decent bat, enough range to play all three outfield spots, and plus speed.
He’s a career .272 hitter with a .725 OPS and has fared particularly well versus left-handed pitching.
