Dave Bush has been serving as Triple-A depth for the Phillies since signing a minor-league deal in December, but the 32-year-old veteran of eight big-league seasons has decided to opt out of his contract to sign with a team in Korea.

Bush was once an effective strike-throwing mid-rotation starter for the Blue Jays and Brewers, totaling 815 innings with a 4.45 ERA from 2004-2008, but since 2009 his ERA is 5.33 ERA in 326 innings and he got knocked around in a stint with the Rangers last year.

Bush had a nice-looking 3.16 ERA at Triple-A for the Phillies, but it came with just 37 strikeouts in 63 innings and a .274 opponents’ batting average.
