This is a promo for Red Bull but who cares, it’s hilarious.
Kris Bryant thinks he’s just filming a normal commercial in which he takes batting practice. Before they can finish though, the kid throwing BP gets called away. The sound guy -- a scraggly-lookin’ dude who doesn’t look particularly athletic -- volunteers to step in and pitch. Bryant is dubious, but the sound guy does a good job. He even breaks off some nasty curves and cutters.
Because the sound guy is Hall of Famer Greg Maddux.
He doesn’t have his 1995 form or anything, but Bryant definitely had a harder time getting solid contact than he expected. “Sound guy has a pretty could curve,” the MVP says.
As far as pranks go, this was a pretty great one.
