Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Indians are showing interest in free agent outfielder Dayan Viciedo.
Viciedo, 26 in March, would have to accept a part-time role if he were to sign with the Indians, as the outfield is already set with Michael Brantley in left field, Michael Bourn in center, and David Murphy in right field. The Indians are searching for right-handed power.
Viciedo has hit a total of 60 home runs over the last three seasons, but aside from power, he doesn’t provide much else. He doesn’t hit for average or draw walks, nor does he play even adequate defense in the outfield.
