Jose Fernandez threw a baseball today -- 25 throws from 30 feet -- for first time since Tommy John surgery #Marlins

Fernandez went under the knife on May 16 and he’s doubtful to rejoin the Marlins’ rotation until early-to-mid June of 2015. The 22-year-old ace had a 2.44 ERA in eight starts this season before tearing the UCL in his right elbow. He boasts a sensational 2.25 ERA and 10.3 K/9 through 224 1/3 career major league innings.
