When the Rockies acquired Jair Jurrjens from the Reds earlier this week it was seemingly just a Triple-A move, since Jurrjens hasn’t been effective in the majors since 2011 and wasn’t even much good in the minors this year.

Instead the Rockies announced that they’ll call him up to start tonight against the Dodgers in a matchup with Clayton Kershaw. Good luck, Jair!

Jurrjens made the All-Star team in 2011 as a 25-year-old, but he’s been an injured mess since then, including a 4.46 ERA and 27/13 K/BB ratio in 34 innings at Triple-A for the Reds before they swapped him to the Rockies.
