First baseman/third baseman Mark Reynolds, who spent 2015 as a part-time player for the Cardinals, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Rockies.
Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports that the contract is worth $2.6 million plus incentives and Coors Field is a nice place for the 32-year-0ld Reynolds to try to get his career back on track given that his primary skill is power.
Low batting averages and high strikeout totals have kept Reynolds from topping a .750 OPS since 2012, but he’s still managed 20 homers per 150 games during that time and has an overall skill set that should benefit from high altitude.
