Jon Morosi if MLB Network reports that the Chicago Cubs flight from Washington to Los Angeles was diverted to Albuquerque, New Mexico due to an ill family member on board. The extent of the family member’s illness and who it was has not been reported, but the plane was still on the ground in New Mexico as of an hour ago.
The Cubs were supposed to get in to L.A. early this morning, catch some sleep and have a light workout and media session at Dodger Stadium this afternoon. That schedule is probably off now. Game 1 of the NLCS is Saturday evening, so they have tonight to try to get back on schedule.
