According to Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com, right-hander Tyler Cloyd has signed with the Samsung Lions of the Korea Baseball Organization. This confirms a report from Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish.
You might remember Cloyd from his time with the Phillies, where he posted a 5.98 ERA over 17 starts and two relief appearances from 2012-2013. The 27-year-old spent last season with the Indians’ Triple-A affiliate and posted a 3.89 ERA and 118/31 K/BB ratio over 166 2/3 innings.
Cleveland re-signed Cloyd to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training, but he apparently found a better situation overseas.
