The Yankees have signed first baseman Ike Davis to a one-year major league contract, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports. With Mark Teixeira on the disabled list due to a right knee injury, the Yankees will likely have Davis platoon with Rob Refsnyder at first base.

Davis, 29, signed a minor league deal with the Rangers in February but he exercised his opt-out clause on Sunday to pursue other opportunities.

In 163 plate appearances with Triple-A Round Rock, Davis hit .268/.350/.437 with four home runs and 25 RBI.
