With five hits in his last two games, Nick Green has raised his average to .297.
Quick, who is the NL’s best Green, Shawn or Nick? Young Nick has the superior OPS, 814 to 766. He’s no Marcus Giles, but has been a very capable fill-in.

Nick Green (strained back) expects to be back in the Braves’ lineup for Friday’s game against the Phillies.
He felt better yesterday, but opted to take another day off to let his back heal properly.

Nick Green is starting tonight after missing two games with a knee injury.
He’s playing second base and batting ninth.

Nick Green was available to play off the bench last night.
He recently took eight stitches in his knee after getting spiked.

Since June 14, Nick Green is batting .198 (24-for-121), dropping his overall average to .247.
Green’s chances of entering next year as a regular have dropped significantly. He never should have been anything more than a reserve in the first place.

Yankees purchased the contract of infielder Nick Green from Triple-A Columbus.
Green would be an upgrade over Miguel Cairo if he got to play, but he probably won’t. Maybe he’ll at least get a start or two at second base against lefties before he returns to the minors.

Yankees designated infielder Nick Green for assignment.
Even though Miguel Cairo is sporting a 561 OPS, Green didn’t get an at-bat in nine days with the Yankees.

Yankees sent infielder Nick Green outright to Triple-A Columbus.
Green can opt for free agency, but since no one wanted him on waivers, it’s possible that he’ll stay with the Yankees.

Yankees acquired infielder Nick Green from the Devil Rays for cash considerations and assigned him to Triple-A Columbus.
They really do seem to be acquiring everybody. Green just cleared waivers when he was removed from the Rays’ roster earlier this month. He’d be an upgrade over Miguel Cairo as a reserve infielder, although that’s certainly not saying much. The Yankees don’t have anyone who wouldn’t be a big liability should they lose Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter or Robinson Cano for any length of time.

The Yankees are reportedly expected to call up Nick Green from Triple-A.
With Derek Jeter out, Green is expected to join the team in time for Tuesday’s game. He won’t have any fantasy value unless the injuries continue to pile up for New York.
