Nick Tepesch pitched decently in a losing effort against the Tigers on Friday, allowing two runs on six hits over his five innings.
Tepesch also walked three and struck out one in the contest. He shut down the vaunted Tigers offense through the first four innings, but they broke through in the fifth courtesy of an RBI double from Miguel Cabrera and a sacrifice fly from Alex Avila. Tepesch has done a decent job thus far for the Rangers, compiling a 3-4 record, 3.98 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 31/13 K/BB ratio over 43 innings. He’ll get the Athletics next at home on Wednesday.

Nick Tepesch has been scratched from his Wednesday start due to a blister on his right middle finger.
Ross Wolf will take the mound in his place. Tepesch should be fine by his next turn in the Rangers’ rotation.

Nick Tepesch allowed just an unearned run over 6 1/3 innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Royals.
Outside of his one win against Houston, Tepesch has gotten very little run support over the last month. The Rangers scored just once for him tonight, and maybe that would have been enough, but an infield single, another single and a passed ball led to an unearned run in the fifth.

Nick Tepesch allowed five runs in five innings in taking the loss against the Indians on Wednesday.
Tepesch served up eight hits, including two home runs, and a walk in his five innings. He hasn’t picked up a win in a month, and the loss dropped him to 3-6 on the year. He’ll start again Monday against the Athletics.

Nick Tepesch (blister) has been cleared to start Sunday in Seattle.
Tepesch had to be scratched from his last start due to a blister on his right middle finger, but he’s fine now. The right-hander holds a 3.98 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over eight starts this season and isn’t a bad streaming option for Sunday.

Nick Tepesch struggled in Friday’s loss to the Blue Jays, allowing six runs on five hits over his seven innings of work.
Tepesch punched out six on the night while walking only two. It was a 1-1 game heading into the bottom of the sixth inning when a two-run double from Edwin Encarnacion keyed a four-run uprising. Even with the rough outing, Tepesch owns a respectable 3.92 ERA and 45/16 K/BB ratio through 62 innings on the season. He’ll look to get back on track when he takes on the Indians at home on Wednesday.

Nick Tepesch allowed two runs on five hits and had six strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in his start Sunday against the Mariners.
It was another solid effort from Tepesch, who took advantage of a weak-hitting Mariners’ lineup. He didn’t allow a run through five innings before giving up a two-run homer to Kendrys Morales. Tepesch was scratched from his last outing because of a blister issue, but it’s no longer a concern at this point. His next start is Saturday vs. the Royals.

Nick Tepesch lasted just 3 2/3 innings and gave up six runs to the A’s in a loss Monday.
Tepesch’s time in the rotation may soon come to an end. He’s given up 17 runs over 15 2/3 innings in his last three starts, and he hasn’t picked up a win since beating Houston on May 12. The Rangers might give him one more chance, but if he doesn’t improve, he could be replaced by Martin Perez.

Nick Tepesch allowed just one run on four hits over 5 2/3 innings in his start on Sunday night against the Cardinals
Tepesch held the Cardinals hitless through four innings before giving up a single to David Freese. He continues to struggle to pitch deep into games and fell just short of a quality start. His lone mistake came on a solo home run to Matt Carpenter. Tepesch will make his next start Saturday vs. the Reds.

Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram writes that Nick Tepesch is “in the hunt” for the fifth spot Rangers’ rotation.
Tepesch has quietly joined the competition and had, according to Wilson, a “full-blown audition” Saturday, when he allowed one run on three hits in three innings against the A’s. The right-hander has permitted just two runs over his eight innings this spring, recording eight strikeouts. A former 14th-round pick, Tepesch has made just 16 appearances above A-ball, and he didn’t have much success last year at Double-A. He’s a longshot to make the Opening Day roster despite his strong start.
