Reds acquired RHP Ovis Portes from the Red Sox for RHP Lucas Sims.
Portes represents a long-term project for the Reds as he’s just 19 years old and has made just seven appearances (five starts) above the Rookie-level Florida Complex League. He’s several hyperspace jumps away from reaching the majors and he’s most likely going to wind up as a reliever, if he gets there.
