Indians signed RHP Paul Rigdon to a minor league contract.
Rigdon, released by Milwaukee last month, has missed most of the last year and a half with shoulder problems. He doesn’t figure to make the Indians out of spring training. If he doesn’t return to the majors within the first couple of months of the year, he’ll start getting passed on the depth chart by Cleveland’s young pitching prospects.

Red Sox signed RHP Paul Rigdon to a minor league contract.
Rigdon, a University of Florida product and former Brewers’ fifth starter, has missed much of the last 2 1/2 years with shoulder problems. He won’t have an easy route back to the majors with the Red Sox. If he shows he’s healthy, he’ll probably be a part of Triple-A Pawtucket’s rotation.

Paul Rigdon, coming back from shoulder problems, allowed one run in four innings for Double-A Akron yesterday.
Rigdon had made three starts for Single-A Mahoning Valley before moving back up to Double-A. It’s very unlikely that he’ll make it back to the majors this year. He’s just hoping to pitch well enough to receive a spring training invite next year.
