Rays acquired OF Raul Mondesi, Jr. from the Brewers for RHP Burke Badenhop.
Mondesi, 20, hit .231/.282/.374 with five home runs and eight steals in 298 plate appearances at the rookie-league level last season. He offers intriguing upside, but the Rays would likely be thrilled if he eventually makes it as an extra outfielder. Baseball America did not rank him among the Brewers’ top 30 prospects this past season.
