Ray Liotta gave up eight runs in 2 1/3 innings Wednesday in his start for Double-A Birmingham on Wednesday.
Liotta opened the year as arguably the best pitching prospect in the White Sox system, but he’s been quite a disappointment. Not only is his ERA at 4.93, but he has just a 52/46 K/BB ratio in 96 2/3 innings. While there’s still hope for the future, it looks like he’ll be repeating Double-A next year.

Ray Liotta pitched six scoreless innings and struck out six for Single-A Winston-Salem yesterday.
Liotta, 22, is 5-1 with a 1.23 ERA in six starts since moving up to the Carolina League. His low-90s fastball and quality curve give him quite a bit of potential as a starting pitcher.

Liotta has been the biggest disappointment in the White Sox system this season. Worse than his 4.93 ERA for Double-A Birmingham was his 52/46 K/BB ratio in 96 2/3 innings/
