Tigers 1B prospect Reynaldo Rivera was suspended 80 games for violating minor league baseball’s drug problem.
Rivera, the Tigers second-round pick in 2017, tested positive for Trenbolone, which is considered a performance-enhancing drug according to Major League Baseball. The 22-year-old has not hit well at all in his professional career, and he owns a .633 OPS with 106 strikeouts for Low-A West Michigan. The suspension will carry through the 2019 season, and he’ll miss a significant amount of the 2020 campaign, as well.
