It doesn’t sound like this will be coming with a spring training invitation after Kaminsky put up a 7.66 ERA in 47 innings for the Mariners’ Triple-A club last year. The 30-year-old Kaminsky was drafted by the Cardinals in 2013 and made his only major league appearances to date with the organization in 2020. He’ll likely be a reliever in the Memphis bullpen.

Kaminsky is back in the fold with Seattle as extra starting pitching depth at Triple-A Tacoma. The 29-year-old lefty hasn’t appeared in the majors since making five relief appearances for the Cardinals during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign.

The Mariners find themselves in desperate need of left-handed pitching depth, especially at Triple-A Tacoma, so Kaminsky will get another shot in Seattle’s organization. The 28-year-old southpaw last appeared in the majors during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign when he made five relief appearances for the Cardinals. He made 39 relief appearances last year for Double-A Arkansas in Seattle’s system.

Kaminsky was released by the Phillies last August after making just one relief appearance the entire season. The 27-year-old lefty was a highly-regarded prospect with the Cardinals a few years ago and made five relief appearances in the majors during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign.

Kaminsky will report to the team’s alternate training site for now. The 26-year-old southpaw made his major league debut last season with the Cardinals and allowed three runs -- one earned -- over 4 2/3 frames.

Kaminsky was designated for assignment by the Cardinals last week and ultimately passed through waivers unclaimed. He had allowed three runs -- one earned -- in 4 2/3 innings this year with St. Louis.

With fellow lefty Ricardo Sanchez hitting the injured list Saturday, the Cards brought back southpaw Kaminsky to fill the void. Kaminsky has struck out two over two scoreless innings of work so far this year. He’ll serve in middle relief.
