Athletics SS prospect Robert Puason went 3-for-3 with a double on Thursday for Low-A Stockton.
Puason also scored a run. It’s nice to see the infielder have some success after a dreadful first few weeks with the Ports. He’s still hitting just .185 in 17 games at the Low-A level, but that average was .040 on May 16, so, progress. Signed to a $5.1 million bonus back in July of 2019, Puason is one of the most talented prospects in the Oakland system, as he’s a plus-plus runner with a strong throwing arm and slick actions in the infield. He also has a chance to hit for some pop and average, but the bat has work to be done. Fortunately, at the age of 18, there’s plenty of time for that work to take place.
