According to Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Pirates have voided their minor league contract with Roberto Gomez.
They apparently did so because of issues related to his recent physical exam. Gomez is now back on the free agent market and could struggle to attract offers -- even non-guaranteed ones -- if his health is compromised. The 29-year-old right-hander owns a 7.98 ERA and 2.11 WHIP in 14 2/3 career major league innings.

Pirates signed RHP Roberto Gomez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Gomez holds a 7.98 ERA over nine relief appearances in the majors over the last two seasons. He’ll compete for a bullpen job in spring training.

Giants purchased the contract of RHP Roberto Gomez from Triple-A Sacramento.
Gomez posted an underwhelming 4.07 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and 89/38 K/BB ratio in 97 1/3 innings this season with Sacramento. He will presumably work in a mop-up role out of the San Francisco bullpen.

Roberto Gomez will be in the Giants’ bullpen on Opening Day.
Gomez mostly struggled last year at Triple-A Sacramento and was horrible for the Giants as a September callup, but the 28-year-old right-hander has good numbers in the lower minors and put together a nice spring. He’ll likely pitch in low-leverage situations.

Giants optioned RHP Roberto Gomez to Triple-A Sacramento.
Gomez fell on the sword, figuratively, for the Giants in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader after Chris Stratton proved ineffective. His reward was a trip to sunny Sacramento. Gomez has posted a 7.71 ERA and 2.25 WHIP in five appearances with the Giants this season.

Giants recalled RHP Roberto Gomez from Triple-A Sacramento.
Gomez has allowed five earned runs on 11 hits in four innings this season at the major league level. He’ll likely work in a mop-up role in his return to San Francisco and could be sent back down this weekend.

    Giants released RHP Roberto Gomez.
The Giants needed to clear a spot on their 40-man roster for Johnny Cueto, who was activated off the 60-day disabled list on Thursday. Gomez has been on the DL at Triple-A Sacramento since early May. He’s pitched to a 7.71 ERA over five major league appearances this year.
