Myers allowed one run in two innings during his stint in the majors this season.

Myers had a 2.80 ERA in 33 relief appearances and one start for Las Vegas. He’ll be used in relief, but he probably won’t get to pitch very often.

Myers, a seven-year veteran, gave up 11 runs -- five earned -- in six innings this spring.

Myers, 34, had a 6.00 ERA in four appearances for the Dodgers and a 3.30 ERA at Triple-A Las Vegas last season. Since he’s gotten plenty of opportunities in the majors and has always been below average, he shouldn’t see any additional time in the Los Angeles bullpen.

It’s pretty sad that this is the best the Dodgers could do. Myers wasn’t even an average major league reliever back in his prime. He’s 34 now, and he had a 5.00 ERA in Triple-A this season. If the Dodgers decide to bring up Edwin Jackson next week, Myers could return to the minors then. If not, he might stick around as a mopup man until Hideo Nomo or Paul Shuey returns.
