    Ryal was batting .290/.347/.527 with 17 home runs and 70 RBI in 404 at-bats this season with the Reno Aces. His presence will allow Ryan Roberts to shift to the outfield on days when he’s needed.

    Rusty Ryal was 3-for-3 with a home run and three runs scored in a win over the Giants on Tuesday night.
    Ryal finished a double short of the cycle. He scored in the Diamondbacks’ three-run second inning and during the six-run third, adding a solo home run off future Hall of Famer Randy Johnson in the seventh. Not a bad night. Ryal is batting .298/.400/.638 with three homers and four RBI in 47 at-bats since being called up by the Diamondbacks in August. He has a chance to stick around as a utilityman next season.
