White Sox purchased the contract of LHP Santos Rodriguez from Triple-A Charlotte.
Rodriguez, who turns 25 in January, had a solid 2.90 ERA and 69/35 K/BB ratio over 71 1/3 innings this season between Double- and Triple-A. The southpaw likely would have been picked up in the Rule 5 Draft if he was exposed.

White Sox designated LHP Santos Rodriguez for assignment.
Rodriguez posted an underwhelming 4.91 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in 47 2/3 innings last season between Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte. He’ll likely pass through waivers unclaimed and head back to Charlotte in 2014.

Diamondbacks claimed LHP Santos Rodriguez off waivers from the White Sox.
Rodriguez was designated for assignment last week by the Pale Hose and has now found a new home. He put up a 4.91 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in 47 2/3 innings last season between Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte. The southpaw is merely organizational depth for the D’Backs.

Diamondbacks sent LHP Santos Rodriguez outright to Triple-A Reno.
The move clears room on the 40-man roster for the addition of Oliver Perez. Rodriguez put up a 4.91 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in 47 2/3 innings last season between Double- and Triple-A with the White Sox before the D’Backs claimed him off waivers in January.

Left-hander Santos Rodriguez was traded from the Braves to the White Sox in a six-player deal.
Rodriguez is probably the No. 2 talent in the deal for the White Sox, but there’s a lot of things that could go wrong before he’s ready for the majors. The 6-foot-5, 180-pound left-hander had a 2.79 ERA and a 45/13 K/BB ratio in 29 innings out of the pen for the Rookie GCL Braves last season. As he fills out and gets stronger, he should be an option as a starting pitcher.
