The Angels expect to call up pitcher Scott Dunn from Triple-A Salt Lake City today.
Dunn, who was 10-4 with a 3.24 ERA and a 83/56 strikeout to walk ratio at Class AAA, will bolster the Angels’ overworked bullpen.

Angels promoted Scott Dunn to Triple-A Salt Lake, 11 days after they acquired him from the Chicago White Sox.
In three appearances at Double-A Arkansas, Dunn pitched five scoreless innings, striking out seven and walking none.

White Sox acquired RHP Scott Dunn from the Reds for infielder D’Angelo Jimenez.
We suppose this is better than getting nothing, but Dunn is a 25-year-old relief prospect. He’s not as good of a bet for major league success as Edwin Almonte, much less Royce Ring.

Angels purchased the contract of RHP Scott Dunn from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Dunn, who was acquired from the White Sox in the Scott Schoeneweis deal last year, will join Matt Hensley in a mop-up role.
  • ATH Relief Pitcher
Angels optioned RHP Scott Dunn to Triple-A Salt Lake and reassigned INF Zach Sorensen to minor league camp.
Dunn gave up four runs in six innings to fall behind Jake Woods and Chris Bootcheck in the competition for a bullpen spot.

Angels designated RHP Scott Dunn for assignment.
Dunn spent Sept. 2004 with the Angels, but he hadn’t been back since. He should clear waivers.

Devil Rays recalled RHP Scott Dunn from Triple-A Durham.
He’s new, so how bad can he be? The 27-year-old Dunn was just claimed off waivers from the Angels on Wednesday. He’ll pitch in middle relief.

Devil Rays claimed RHP Scott Dunn from the Angels and optioned him to Triple-A Durham.
Dunn, who made his major league debut with the Angels in Sept. 2004, had a 3.82 ERA and 98 strikeouts in 92 innings while spending all of 2005 at Triple-A Salt Lake. Poor command has held him back, and he turns 28 next month. It’s not very likely that he’ll have a career in the majors.

Athletics signed RHP Scott Dunn, who had been with the Devil Rays, to a one-year contract.
The A’s tend to do this once a year -- giving a major league deal to a minor league free agent. We’re guessing Dunn won’t work out any better than Matt Roney did. The 28-year-old Dunn had a 2.73 ERA in 66 innings for Triple-A Durham last season, but he gave up 10 runs and 16 hits in 7 2/3 innings while in the majors. The former Angels prospect doesn’t have the command to be an quality reliever.

RHP Scott Dunn was traded from the White Sox to the Angels in a five-player deal.
Dunn, 25, was the relief prospect the Reds gave up for D’Angelo Jimenez. Clearly, the White Sox didn’t think much of him once they got a closer look.
