The 27-year-old Green had a 6.75 ERA and a 12/9 K/BB ratio in 14 2/3 innings for the Mariners. He’ll be back later on, but he has little in the way of upside.

Used exclusively in losses, Green had allowed five runs in 11 1/3 innings since returning from the DL on July 29. He has a 5.27 ERA in 27 1/3 innings this season.

He’ll also get an invite to spring training. Green made 13 relief appearances with the Brewers last season, but spent the majority of the year with Triple-A Nashville, posting a 3.91 ERA and 40/27 K/BB ratio over 46 innings. The 32-year-old right-hander has a 4.41 ERA in the big leagues and will likely struggle to win a spot in the Rangers’ bullpen.
