Marlins sent LHP Sean Nolin outright to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Nolin passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 33-year-old lefty will remain with the Marlins as extra organizational pitching depth.

Marlins designated LHP Sean Nolin for assignment.
The Marlins needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for Bryan Hoeing to start on Tuesday, and Nolin was the odd-man out. The 33-year-old southpaw appeared in just one game with the Marlins -- allowing six runs on seven hits over his three innings of work.

Marlins selected the contract of LHP Sean Nolin from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Nolin provides the Marlins with some extra left-handed relief depth heading into Monday’s series opener against the Braves. The 33-year-old southpaw was acquired earlier this month in a trade with the Twins after spending last year with the Kia Tigers of the Korea Baseball Organization. He last appeared in the majors during the 2021 campaign when he made a career-high 10 appearances (five starts) for the Nationals.

Marlins acquired LHP Sean Nolin from the Twins for cash considerations.
Nolin gives the Marlins some extra starting pitching depth in the upper minors at Triple-A Jacksonville moving forward. The 33-year-old lefty signed a minor league contract with the Twins back in February after spending last year with the Kia Tigers of the Korea Baseball Organization, finishing with a 2.47 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 108/24 K/BB ratio across 124 innings (21 starts). He made a career-high 10 appearances (five starts) for the Nationals during the 2021 campaign.

Nolin has bounced around the last few years, but made a career-high 10 appearances (five starts) for the Nationals during the 2021 campaign. Sean Nolin has signed a one-year contract with the Kia Tigers of the Korea Baseball Organization.
The deal includes $600,000 guaranteed next season and could be worth up to $900,000 through incentives. The 32-year-old left-hander, who inked a minor-league deal to return to the Nationals back in November, recorded a 4.39 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 20/13 K/BB ratio across 26 2/3 innings (10 appearances, five starts) in the major leagues last season.

Nationals re-signed LHP Sean Nolin to a minor-league contract.
Nolin elected free agency after being removed from the Nationals’ 40-man roster last month, but winds up returning on a minor-league pact as organizational depth for the 2022 season. The 31-year-old left-hander posted a serviceable 4.39 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 20/13 K/BB ratio across 26 2/3 innings (10 appearances, five starts) at the big-league level last year.

Sean Nolin has elected free agency.
Nolin was recently outrighted off the Nationals’ 40-man roster and carried the ability to put himself on the open market this winter, which he has now done. The 31-year-old left-hander owns a career 5.74 ERA, 1.74 WHIP, and 35/26 K/BB ratio in 58 total major league frames.

Nationals manager Dave Martinez said Saturday that Josh Rogers will remain in the starting rotation.
Martinez also added that that Sean Nolin has been moved to the bullpen. Rogers has allowed just five runs on 13 hits with a 12/5 K/BB ratio across 17 innings over three starts since being called up in mid-August. He’s a decent streaming option for fantasy managers in extremely deep leagues when he faces the Marlins early next week.

Sean Nolin was issued a five-game suspension on Friday and fined an undisclosed amount after intentionally hitting Freddie Freeman with a pitch during Wednesday’s game.
It certainly appeared to be intentional when Freeman was drilled in the ribs after Juan Soto had been plunked the day prior -- especially after Nolin threw behind Freeman with his first offering. It’s unclear if he’ll appeal or immediately begin serving his time.
