Bryan Woo recorded four strikeouts over 2 1/3 innings on Tuesday against the Angels.
It’s reassuring to see Woo looking like himself again after missing time late last year — and into the postseason — with pectoral inflammation. The 26-year-old profiles as a surefire top-10 starting pitcher off the board this spring, the kind of arm whose floor and ceiling feel uncomfortably close to one another in a way that makes draft-day decisions easier than they probably should be at a position where nothing is guaranteed.
  • SEA Infield #3
J.P. Crawford (shoulder) is hitting fifth as the designated hitter Wednesday against the Angels.
Crawford will make his spring debut, albeit as the DH instead of his usual shortstop position. The 31-year-old has battled a “minor” shoulder issue ahd should be fine by the team the regular season rolls around. It’s likely Crawford’s last year as the starting shortstop for Seattle with Colt Emerson taking over in 2027.
  • SEA Catcher #28
Mariners re-signed C Jacob Nottingham to a minor league contract.
Nottingham hasn’t appeared in the majors since 2021 and strictly qualifies as emergency catching depth at this stage of his journeyman career. The 30-year-old backstop got into just 16 games for Triple-A Tacoma last year.
  • SEA Infield #2
Cole Young hit a two-run homer in a loss to the Rangers on Sunday.
Young clobbered a two-run homer off Jacob Latz in the first inning. The 22-year-old is battling for the starting second base job to open 2026, but he’ll have to hold off top prospect Colt Emerson to do so. Young is an intriguing dynasty prospect, but one who fantasy managers need to take a wait-and-see approach with before investing.
  • SEA Pitcher #36
Logan Gilbert gave up a run over 2 2/3 innings of work against the Rangers on Sunday.
Gilbert, 28, allowed two hits, and one of those hits was a solo homer by Cameron Cauley. He whiffed three, and he’s fanned five over his 4 1/3 innings in Cactus League action. Gilbert should be one of the first ten or so pitchers drafted in 2026, and offers massive upside because of his ability to miss bats for a team that should give him plenty of win opportunities.
  • SEA Outfield #20
Luke Raley hit a solo blast in a Cactus League loss Saturday to the Padres.
Raley was responsible for Seattle’s only run with a solo dinger off JP Sears. The 31-year-old has been one of the streakier players in baseball of the past few seasons, and that inconsistency along with his inability to hit lefties — although the homer was off one Saturday — makes him someone fantasy managers can’t consider in the majority of leagues.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher
Kade Anderson allowed two runs in an inning-plus of work Saturday in his Cactus League debut against the Padres on Saturday.
The run-provention isn’t great, but Anderson did strike out three of the seven hitters he faced and looked filthy doing so. The 21-year-old was the third-overall pick in 2026, and while he doesn’t have quite the same elite stuff as a Paul Skenes or pitchers of that ilk, there’s just as good of chance Anderson makes an early debut. Fantasy managers should be prepared if he gets the call for Seattle in 2026.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #50
Bryce Miller underwent an MRI that revealed left side inflammation.
Miller will be shut down from throwing for at least the next five days for precautionary reasons after receiving a PRP injection to address the swelling. Mariners general manager Justin Hollander told reporters there is no definitive timeline beyond Miller resuming a throwing program later this week. It certainly sounds like a possibility that he opens the regular season with a trip to the injured list since he might run out of time to build up his pitch count and stamina. The 27-year-old righty made his spring debut earlier this week, showcasing a significant uptick in fastball velocity from last year’s injury-plagued campaign. There should be an additional update on his status once he’s cleared to resume throwing.
  • SEA Shortstop #7
Will Wilson went 2-for-2 with a double as the Mariners fell to the Diamondbacks in Cactus League play on Friday.
The 27-year-old infielder singled in the seventh inning and roped a double in the ninth inning, making the most of his two plate appearances in the ballgame. Given his versatility, he could have an outside shot at earning a spot on the M’s bench with a strong showing in Cactus League play, but he’ll most likely begin the year as extra infield depth at the Triple-A level.
  • SEA Pitcher #58
Luis Castillo was hit hard in his Cactus League debut against the Diamondbacks on Friday, giving up three runs on four hits in 1 1/3 innings.
Castillo struck out two batters in the contest and didn’t issue a base on balls. He got through the first inning unscathed, then allowed two singles to start the second inning followed by a three-run blast off the bat of A.J. Vukovich. The right-hander got five whiffs on 36 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll try to put this one behind him and get back on track his next time out.
