Reds signed first-round pick Steele Hall to a contract with a $5,750,000 signing bonus.
That’s well under the recommended slot value of $6.51 million for the ninth overall pick in the draft, giving the Reds some additional flexibility as they negotiate with the rest of their draft class. Hall, a 17-year-old shortstop out of Hewitt-Trussville HS (AL), projects as a major asset in stolen bases when he eventually reaches the big leagues.
