    Sterling Hitchcock, who retired after the 2004 seasons, was at the GM meetings and said he hopes to make a comeback next season.
    Hitchcock spent much of his final five seasons in the majors fighting arm problems. He’s only 35, so if he’s feeling healthy now, maybe he still has something left to contribute. He’s more likely to make it back as a reliever than as a starter.

    “We’ll take a look at him throwing,” assistant GM Fred Uhlman Jr. said. “I wouldn’t rule it out.” It’s unclear when Hitchcock will begin throwing for teams. The 35-year-old left-hander is attempting a comeback after spending two seasons in retirement.
