Delabar

Delabar is now coaching baseball at the high school level. The 35-year-old made the All-Star team back in 2013 with the Blue Jays but struggled after that. He retires with a career 4.07 ERA over parts of six major league seasons.

He was sent down to make room for Tuesday’s starter, Blake Beavan, on the active roster. Delabar, 29, has a 4.18 ERA and 44/9 K/BB ratio over 32 1/3 innings this season and should rejoin the Mariners’ bullpen before long.

Delabar has registered a 5.18 ERA in 25 relief appearances this season despite fanning 31 batters in 24 1/3 innings. He should be brought back up later this summer.

He missed the 2010 season due to an elbow injury and battled back to the majors from there. He’ll function in middle relief north of the border.
