Steve Schmoll pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief and struck out two yesterday for Zulia of the VWL.
He’s struck out four in three scoreless innings so far. Schmoll spent about two-thirds of last season in the majors and had a 5.01 ERA in 46 2/3 IP. He’ll get better next year, but the Dodgers may opt to send him back to the minors for the start of the season.

Dodgers recalled RHP Steve Schmoll from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Schmoll had a 4.96 ERA in 16 relief appearances before being sent down on May 14. He’ll again be used in middle relief.

Right-handed reliever Steve Schmoll was traded from the Dodgers to the Mets in the Jae Seo deal
We liked the trade better for the Dodgers before Schmoll and Tim Hamulack were thrown in. Schmoll is clearly the better bet of the two, though he would seem to make less sense in a pen that already includes Chad Bradford. The 25-year-old had a 5.01 ERA in 46 2/3 innings. Like Bradford, his motion makes him quite a bit tougher on righties than lefties. He probably won’t have a bullpen spot coming out of spring training.

Steve Schmoll earned his first save for Zulia of the VWL by pitching a scoreless inning yesterday.
Schmoll, who will compete for a spot in the Dodger pen in the spring, has given up four runs and has a 12/3 K/BB ratio in 10 1/3 innings.

Dodgers optioned RHP Steve Schmoll to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Schmoll had a 4.96 ERA in 16 relief appearances. The Dodgers will need him again later on.

Mets recalled RHP Steve Schmoll from Triple-A Norfolk and placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a right hamstring injury.
Schmoll, who was acquired along with Duaner Sanchez from the Dodgers for Jae Seo, never made an appearance with the Mets this season. Due to his troubles with lefties, he finished with a 4.69 ERA in 55 2/3 innings for Norfolk.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher
Mets reassigned RHP Steve Schmoll to minor league camp.
Schmoll had allowed just one run and three hits in four innings, but he never had a chance to make the team after a disappointing 2006 in Triple-A. The sidearming reliever will be ready if needed.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher
Mets designated RHP Steve Schmoll for assignment.
Schmoll, part of the Duaner Sanchez-Jae Seo trade, didn’t pitch in the majors last year after spending much of 2005 with the Dodgers. The sidearming right-hander likely has a future in a major league bullpen, but he doesn’t have the upside of the man who is replacing him on the 40-man roster, Marcos Carvajal.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher
Mets sent RHP Steve Schmoll outright to Triple-A New Orleans.
Schmoll was designated for assignment to open up a spot for Marcos Carvajal last week. He’ll be in Mets camp as a non-roster player.
