Orioles purchased the contract of LHP Tim Berry from High-A Frederick.
The southpaw had a 3.85 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 119/40 K/BB ratio through 152 innings and 27 starts with Frederick this season. He also enjoyed some success in the recently completed Arizona Fall League. Adding him to the 40-man roster protects him in December’s Rule 5 Draft.

Giants signed LHP Tim Berry to a minor league contract.
Berry was designated for assignment by the Marlins in late May. Splitting time between High-A and Double-A in the Miami system, he held a 6.55 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 26/13 K/BB ratio across 34 1/3 innings. The 25-year-old southpaw will continue to work his craft in the Giants’ minor league system. A major league debut probably isn’t in the cards this season.

The move clears a roster spot for Asher Wojciechowski, who was claimed off waivers from the Astros on Tuesday evening. Berry holds an 11.88 ERA through 16 2/3 innings this season between High-A Jupiter and Double-A Jacksonville. He’ll probably go unclaimed.

Orioles signed LHP Tim Berry to a minor league contract.
Berry, who turns 26 in March, was originally drafted by the Orioles in 2009 and was claimed off waivers by the Marlins last offseason. He posted a rough 6.32 ERA and 59/47 K/BB ratio over 88 1/3 innings in the minors in 2016 between the Marlins and Padres. He didn’t pitch above Double-A. He’ll function as organizational depth in his return to the Orioles.

Orioles recalled LHP Tim Berry from Triple-A Norfolk.
Berry holds a 4.12 ERA with 53 strikeouts over 63 1/3 innings at Double-A this season as a starter, but he’ll be used in relief with the O’s. The southpaw will be a long man.

Orioles optioned LHP Tim Berry to Double-A Bowie.
His stay with the Orioles lasted just one day, and he didn’t appear in a game. He’ll continue to work as a starting pitcher in the minor leagues where he’ll provide depth in the event of an injury.
