Glaesmann was acquired by the Diamondbacks from the Rays over the offseason in the three-way deal that sent Heath Bell to Tampa, but the 23-year-old has apparently decided to hang it up. The former third-round pick batted just .240/.289/.378 with 11 homers at Double-A last season.

Diamondbacks prospect Todd Glaesmann hit for the cycle Tuesday in a win over Advanced-A San Jose.
Glaesmann’s triple came after he ran through a stop sign at second base. The 24-year-old retired last February but returned to baseball only a few months later. Glaesmann isn’t close to cracking a big league roster, but he might be close to outgrowing Single-A. Through six games, he leads Visalia in both slugging percentage (.920) and OPS (1.327).
