The Angels seem to be rotating Murphy and Reggie Willits whenever they can afford to drop to 11 pitches. Murphy won’t have any fantasy value while serving as a backup to Chone Figgins.

Dubois, 28, is about done as a legitimate candidate for a roster spot after hitting just .251/.303/.415 for Triple-A Norfolk last season. Even if he rebounds offensively, his poor defense in left field will be held against him. Murphy is coming over from the Angels. Scouts tended to think he was a better bet than Reggie Willits to put together a career in the majors, but the former infielder has little power and hasn’t turned into much of an OBP guy. Plus, he’s an awful basestealer for someone with plus speed.

We’d trust either Phillips or DiNardo with a rotation spot before Horacio Ramirez. Phillips had a 3.86 ERA in his 11 2/3 innings this spring. DiNardo pitched five scoreless innings, striking out seven.
