Tartamella

Tartamella is a defensive-minded catcher who hit only .203/.236/.246 with no homers in 40 games for Memphis this season. He’ll provide depth while Yadier Molina (thumb) is sidelined.

Tartamella served as emergency catching depth for the Cardinals over the final two weeks of the regular season. He is now off the club’s 40-man roster and it would be a surprise to see him back in the major leagues at any point in the near future. The 27-year-old is a .197/.251/.266 career hitter in the minors.
