Troy Scribner allowed three runs on three hits over five innings in Thursday’s loss to the Rangers.
Scribner struck out six and walked two on the evening. Two of the three hits he surrendered in the contest left the yard, with Drew Robinson burning him for a two-run home run in the third inning and Mike Napoli smashing a solo home run off him one inning later. In five appearances (three starts) with the Angels this season, the 26-year-old right-hander has pitched to a 4.00 ERA and 0.94 WHIP. Scribner will continue to draw starts moving forward with J.C. Ramirez (elbow) currently on the disabled list and is scheduled to toe the rubber in a home start against the A’s next time out.

Angels recalled RHP Troy Scribner from Triple-A Salt Lake.
He’ll draw the start Thursday against Texas. Scribner is filling the rotation spot left by J.C. Ramirez, who was placed on the DL with an elbow strain earlier this week. The 26-year-old sports a 3.46 ERA over four outings including two starts for the Halos this year.
  • MLB Relief Pitcher #72
Angels optioned RHP Eduardo Paredes to Triple-A Salt Lake.
The Angels had to make room for Thursday’s starting pitcher, Troy Scribner. Paredes has posted a respectable 3.00 ERA over 15 innings of work in the majors this year.

Troy Scribner struggled in a no-decision against the Athletics on Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits in just 2 2/3 innings.
Scribner walked one and struck out two in the abbreviated outing. He allowed a pair of solo home runs to Matt Joyce and Matt Olson in the second inning then was lifted with the bases loaded and Joyce strolling to the dish with two outs in the third. He’ll try to get back on track in a rematch against the Athletics in Oakland on Monday.

Angels purchased the contract of RHP Troy Scribner from Triple-A Salt Lake.
The 26-year-old hurler owned a 10-3 record, 4.16 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 98/36 K/BB ratio across 97 1/3 innings at Triple-A this season. The Angels are going with a bullpen day against the Blue Jays on Saturday, so it’s likely that Scribner sees at least a few innings of work.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #60
The Angels are shifting Jesse Chavez to the bullpen.
Chavez has had a tough season to date, as he has pitched to a 5.43 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 22 appearances (21 starts). Troy Scribner will start in his place against the A’s on Friday.

Troy Scribner will start in place of Jesse Chavez in Friday’s game against the A’s.
Chavez has been a disaster in the rotation and the Angels are moving him to the bullpen. In his place (at least for the time being) steps Scribner. The 26-year-old right-hander had been pitching to a 4.16 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 98/36 K/BB ratio in 97 1/3 innings at Triple-A prior to having his contract purchased at the end of July. He does not hold much in the way of fantasy intrigue.

Troy Scribner is scheduled to make his second career start on Wednesday against the Orioles.
Scribner was tagged for five runs - two earned - over four innings in his first major league start on Friday against the Athletics. It’s a tough assignment against a Baltimore offense averaging 5.7 runs per game over the past 10 outings.

Troy Scribner yielded five runs -- two earned -- in four-plus innings against the A’s in his major league debut Friday.
Scribner walked four and gave up a three-run homer to Matt Chapman. He could head back to Triple-A now, as the Angels are hoping to add Andrew Heaney and Tyler Skaggs to their rotation.

Troy Scribner surrendered one run on two hits over five-plus innings in Wednesday’s win over the Orioles.
Scribner struck out four without walking a batter in the contest. Welington Castillo mashed a solo home run off him in the third inning for the only run-scoring blemish on his line. With this one in the books, Scribner will next do battle in a road start against the Nationals. He has allowed six runs (three earned) over nine-plus innings in his first two major league starts.
