Tyler Cyr announced his retirement from professional baseball on Friday.
The 31-year-old right-hander missed the end of the 2023 season due to a shoulder impingement and was outrighted off of the Dodgers’ 40-man roster. He sat out the 2024 season and has now officially decided to call it a career. Cyr made 14 appearances at the big league level in his career between the Dodgers, Phillies and Athletics, posting a strong 2.40 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and an 18/5 K/BB ratio over 15 innings.

Dodgers sent RHP Tyler Cyr outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Cyr landed on the injured list back in late May with a right shoulder impingement and never made it back to Los Angeles. The 30-year-old righty wound up making a pair of relief appearances for the Dodgers this season and will presumably wind up electing free agency after being removed from the club’s 40-man roster.

Dodgers transferred RHP Tyler Cyr from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
The move clears a spot for the newly-claimed Zack Burdi on the 40-man roster. Cyr landed on the injured list this week with a right shoulder impingement and can now be ruled out until late July.

Dodgers placed RHP Tyler Cyr on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement.
The Dodgers had planned to send down Tayler Scott, but instead Cyr will head to the injured list with a balky shoulder. There’s no clear timeframe yet as to how much time he may miss.

Dodgers selected the contract of RHP Tyler Cyr from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Cyr will give the Dodgers a fresh arm out of the bullpen. The 30-year-old pitched for the A’s and Phillies last season and holds a 4.86 ERA and 24/10 K/BB ratio over 16 2/3 relief innings in Triple-A this year.

Dodgers reassigned RHP Tyler Cyr to minor league camp.
Cyr signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers back in January and will open the regular season as extra organizational relief depth at Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Dodgers signed RHP Tyler Cyr to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
It didn’t take Cyr very long to find a new opportunity with the Dodgers after being released earlier this week by the Athletics. The 29-year-old righty reliever posted a stellar 2.70, 1.20 WHIP and 16/5 K/BB ratio across 13 1/3 innings (12 appearances) last season between the Athletics and Phillies. He’ll compete in the Cactus League this spring for a spot on the Dodgers’ season-opening roster.

    Athletics released RHP Tyler Cyr.
Cyr passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment last week by Oakland and has been granted his release to explore another opportunity. The 29-year-old righty made 12 relief appearances last season between the Phillies and Athletics, finishing with a sparkling 2.70 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 16/5 K/BB ratio across 13 1/3 inning.

Athletics designated RHP Tyler Cyr for assignment.
Cyr had a 2.08 ERA in 13 innings for the A’s after being claimed from the Phillies last season, but that wasn’t enough to keep him on the roster. There’s a pretty good chance someone else will put in a claim.
