Yankees signed RHP Yerry Rodríguez to a minor league contract.
The 28-year-old Rodríguez, who has an 8.17 ERA in 30 major league appearances with the Rangers and Blue Jays, didn’t pitch last season after being released by the Pirates in spring training. He’ll be Triple-A depth for the Yankees.

    Pirates released RHP Yerry Rodriguez.
No word yet on the reason for the move, as Rodriguez was just signed to a minor league deal in November. It’s possible that he has another opportunity that he wishes to explore, either with another team or overseas. Rodríguez began the year with the Rangers but pitched to a 7.11 ERA in 31 2/3 innings over 2023 and 2024 and was designated for assignment. The Blue Jays claimed him but Rodríguez posted a 15.43 ERA in four appearances with Toronto and was designated for assignment in the middle of September. The Pirates will hope that they can get him back to the level he showed a few years ago when he showcased the potential to be a solid MLB reliever.

Blue Jays acquired RHP Yerry Rodríguez in a trade with the Rangers for RHP Josh Mollerus.
Rodríguez will head to Triple-A Buffalo. The 26-year-old right-hander was designated for assignment after an ugly 7.11 ERA and 28/17 K/BB in his 31 2/3 innings with Texas over the last two seasons. The Blue Jays will hope to unlock his potential, but he’s not likely to be more than organizational depth at this stage.
