Cuban defector Yobal Duenas made his pro debut Friday, going 0-for-2 with a walk for the Rookie GCL Yankees.
The 32-year-old Duenas defected from Cuba along with right-hander Maels Rodriguez over the winter. It’s unlikely that Duenas will ever play in the majors with the Yankees. As for Rodriguez, he apparently is trying to catch on with an indy league team.
