Tigers signed RHP Zach Segovia to a minor league contract.
Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus reported earlier this week that he had signed with the Rockies, but it turns out he latched on with the Tigers. Segovia, who turns 29 in April, posted a 3.98 ERA and 50/38 K/BB ratio over 63 1/3 innings with the Brewers’ Triple-A affiliate last year. The 2002 second-round pick hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since 2009 as a member of the Nationals.

Phillies designated RHP Zack Segovia for assignment.
Segovia got to open the season in Philadelphia’s rotation because Freddy Garcia was hurt, but he made just one start and hadn’t performed well since being sent down. Better prospects have cleared waivers this year.

Nationals purchased the contract of RHP Zack Segovia from Triple-A Syracuse.
Segovia hasn’t appeared in a major league game since 2007 as a member of the Phillies. He was 3-5 with a 3.24 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 51 games (three starts) between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Syracuse this season.

Rangers signed RHP Zach Segovia to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Round Rock.
Segovia, 31, had been pitching in the Mexican League. It’s merely a depth add for the Rangers as they attempt to fill out the Round Rock rotation for the final days of the season. Segovia hasn’t appeared in the majors since 2009.

Padres signed RHP Zach Segovia to a minor league contract.
The 31-year-old hurler hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since a brief stint with the Nationals in 2009. Most of his 2014 season was spent in the Mexican League, where he compiled a 4.93 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 92/28 K/BB ratio over 115 innings.

Zach Segovia, who had a 4.30 ERA in 14 2/3 innings this spring, has won a spot on the Phillies’ Opening Day roster.
The Phillies had just 24 players on the roster they announced today, with Segovia acting as the 11th pitcher. It appears they’ll add a 12th pitcher on Tuesday. Segovia will probably be sent down when either Freddy Garcia or Jon Lieber is activated.

Phillies optioned RHP Zach Segovia to Triple-A Ottawa.
Segovia made his major league debut on Sunday, taking a loss to the Marlins. It’d be for the best if he’s not needed again anytime soon.

Zach Segovia was touched up for five runs in five innings against the Marlins on Sunday.
He walked one and struck out two while yielding eight hits, four of which went for extra bases. Segovia will head back to the minors when Freddy Garcia is activated, and he’s not a fantasy option in the meantime.
