The pit crews of Denny Hamlin and Kurt Busch have been voted the best of the year, according to a poll by

Hamlin’s crew was chosen best of the year in a poll of fellow crew members.

Busch’s crew, meanwhile, was chosen best of the year in a poll of Sprint Cup crew chiefs, proving that there is some difference of opinion between the working class and management.

The site does not disclose who the voting members are, but is devoted to heralding the unheralded.

The third-annual awards were revealed on the site Tuesday and include a wide array of achievements based on both objective and subjective criteria.

This year, votes could only be cast for the 16 teams that qualified for the Chase and it was intense, according to the site. More than 1,700 total votes were cast for all positions.

Included in the list was the most popular pit crew based on the number of Twitter followers for the collective team. Jimmie Johnson took those honors.

Jamie McMurray was credited with the best pit crew that received too little media coverage.

Johnson was also noted as the driver with the most athletic crew. His team boasts five members who played either football or baseball in college. Johnson was forced to share this honor with Michael Annett, who also had five college ball players.
