The Mavericks drafted St. Joseph’s power forward Ahmad Nivins with the No. 56 pick on Thursday.
Nivins, a particularly strong defender and rebounder, was among the best interior players in the Atlantic 10. His offense is still evolving but he should emerge as a solid pick this late in the draft.
