Kirk

The big man spent the last year in Italy, but the Raptors might give him a look as their third-string center in case Bismack Biyombo leaves in free agency.

Kirk only managed to play five games for the Cavs during his rookie season before being traded away to the Knicks, after which he was waived by New York. He’ll look to get his NBA career back on track with a strong showing during Summer League, but he’s a long shot to wind up on an NBA roster when the 2015-16 season begins. There’s no fantasy value to be had here.

The seven-foot center played a combined 14 minutes in the NBA last season, pulling down one rebound and scoring one field goal. He’ll likely be overseas for the foreseeable future.

Kirk has played a total of three minutes and nine seconds for the Cavs this season, so there are no fantasy implications with this report. Move along.

He was at Monday’s shootaround and will be available off the bench.

Though Kirk has averaged 21.8 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in four games with the Canton Charge this year, he has only played six minutes with the Cavs so this move doesn’t have any fantasy implications.

Kirk played for the Cavs Summer League team averaging 5.2 points on .524 shooting and 3.4 rebounds in 15.4 minutes per game. Kirk will start the season backing up Anderson Varejao, and pending health, Brendan Haywood, but with the injury history of these two guys Kirk could be forced into minutes at some point during the year. However, with Varejao healthy, Kirk is not on the fantasy radar.

None of them were in Phil Jackson’s plans moving forward, and they were never expected to stay with the Knicks for long. All three players shouldn’t be owned in almost any league, and we will let you know when they are officially waived.

He never had a chance to make the Tankerbockers and it will now be interesting to see if he gets picked up by another team in need of a big man. Look for him to end up back in the D-League sooner than later.
